Back to the app from the Windows store, sadly, as I like the Fitbit dashboard much better, and it gives me more information. Can you help? I also tried to sync the Charge 3 with the latest Desktop app. It finds the tracker, starts syncting and then says "Charge3 diconnected" Hi tango and 5jjjjj thank you for getting back to the Forums!
My apologies for the delay. I'd suggest to keep using the Fitbit. Check this article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? Please check that your phone's Bluetooth is turn off when you're trying to connect with your computer.
It will be better if you remove the Fitbit Charge 3 from your Fitbit Account and from the Bluetooth of your computer, then restart your Charge 3 and set it up again as a new device. Want to get more active? Hi tango thanks for getting back. Thanks for letting me know that you were able to finish the set up process of your Charge 3.
You did an excellent job trying those steps. At this moment we don't have any official information about the Fitbit app having issues with Windows 10 or with Charge 3. Kindle is not compatible with Fitbit but some users used to sync with this device eventually after several tries, but it's best to sync with a compatible device.
Fitbit Connect syncs with Mac and Windows 8. Here you will find more information about compatible devices with Fitbit. I have an HP laptop with Windows There's just a flash and that's it.
Hi Gorja NotMyName and unchanging nice to see you here. Gorja thanks for mentioning what model of laptop you're using. Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app? As a first-time user, you'll have to select the first option and then choose your tracker from a list of available choices.
Once you finish, you can either create a new account or log in using your existing credentials. To pair your device to the desktop application, you would need the USB dongle you received with your watch. When you plug the dongle into your PC, you'll want to make sure that your Fitbit band is within close reach. After the pairing is complete, the application will sync available data anytime the watch is around your Windows device.
Another way to pair your watch to your PC is via the Bluetooth function. The latest version of the Fitbit desktop app has been redesigned, keeping in mind the Window 10 interface. This has been done to provide additional features and support for Cortana and Continuum. The quick actions feature available on the Windows application lets you manually log a lot of information that can give you a better idea about your health.
The app also lets you set alarms and view all your notifications in a consolidated tab. I tried downloading the older version of Fitbit Connect, and that seems to do nothing either. Any other suggestions? I'd like to have more details of what you're getting when trying to download the Fitbit App from the Microsoft Store. Are you able to see the app downloading?
Are you getting any error message? My understanding is that I need FitBit Connect. Is that a separate app? I've tried everything else that is suggested to fix this problem.
And you needed both. The former was just used to just push the data from your device to the Fitbit servers; the latter was used to look at your data and stats.
In order to use Fitbit Connect, you need a Fitbit dongle, and that came with older models of Fitbit. Naturally, you can get one from the Fitbit store. On newer computers, you can do syncing, look at your stats, and even participate in challenges from the Fitbit App. Though, you'll need that computer to support Bluetooth LE or the Fitbit dongle. If you're on Windows 10, there is literally nothing that Fitbit Connect can do that the Fitbit App cannot.
That said, when you run the Fitbit App on your phone, in order to get notifications to work, it keeps a more persistent connection to your Fitbit. This is what Fitbit calls 'bonding'. Since this is a persistent connection to your Fitbit, it occasionally disrupts the ability for other devices like your computer to sync with your Fitbit. Try disabling Bluetooth on your phone or turning it off entirely to see of you can get your Fitbit syncing.
Hi, and thanks for your excellent explanation. I have an older laptop which is running on Windows 10 but I do not have BlueTooth. I also have the dongle that came with my FitBit. I've tried syncing with the dongle, but nothing seems to happen. Defective dongle, maybe? Great explanation PureEvil.
