Why might a downloadable mod crash before it opens

Some geospatial data on this website is provided by geonames. Then, bingo, I can load GMod up again. Uh oh, it wants to play the "go to hell Colgate" game again. I load up GMod again, keeps doing this. I even go so far as to delete the GMod folder, then reinstall everything, but nopity nope.

I still have the same litterally the exact same problem as you. I can't remember exactly, but I know one thing that I did was redownload all my addons.

I think that was what fixed it. Thanks anyways and I did end up getting mine fixed going into the steam work shop and unsubscribing to all my mods so the mods wouldn't crash my game. SCars Extra, and Slim work Perfectly fine. Jeeze i dislike the workshop right now, it just messed everything up. Make sure the basic file isn't conflicting with anything.

Like what, what would conflict, Extra or slim? Not necessarily one of the SCars addons, but another addon that might have a conflicting file. Check the other addons' descriptions that might indicate incompatibilities. Last edited by The Juice ; 3 Feb, am. Impetuous View Profile View Posts. Guys, I might have a lead on this case. So far for me, this is only happening for addons that are about 80 MB or larger. Here is the list of mods that crash my game upon finish downloading: Half-Life Renaissance: The first 3 are all by the same person, but his other mods that are less than 80 MB actually installed correctly and works fine.
